The warm weather, the reemergence of toes, and the flowers in bloom bring out that mani/pedi spring fever. We went from understated neutral nail color trends to the bold, the bright, and the beautiful.
We are loving the hottest spring nail trends and bright colors just automatically make us happy. Think lime green, hot pink, bright fire engine red, Big Bird yellow, bright coral, and royal purple. You may also notice fashionable fingertips drenched in cobalt blues and bright shades of green. The juicy colors range from pastels to extreme metallics. Actress AnnaLynne McCord recently rocked a bright blue manicure and the nail queen Katy Perry has been seen out and about with nails in every spring shade, from bright yellow to hot pink. Nicki Minaj was on to something with her OPI collaboration. Shades like her yellow-toned green Did it on ‘Em truly fit the bill.
Solid hues aren’t the only big trend. Look out for extreme top coats. If you thought shatter nails were over and done with…think again. Not only is the crackly shatter look still going strong, animal prints are making a fierce comeback. Are you a zebra stripes kind of girl or more of a cheetah type? Either way, give in to the call of the wild. Rihanna was spied with sexy zebra print tips. The look is fresh, young, and stylish. Our fingernails have become quite the canvas and it’s stirring up some serious buzz in the world of nails! Celebs are literally turning their nails into works of art. Fergie donned silver and black striped nails to a movie premiere and birthday party and Disney star Nicole Anderson opted for an abstract design in teal and lilac.
Pick up an issue of your favorite fashion magazine. This time skim over that stellar dress that’s calling your name and take a closer look at the supermodels’ fingernails. It’s actually a lot of fun.
The way I see it…it’s just nail polish. It’s a zero-commitment way to show off your personality. So let’s switch things upand have some fun this spring. Trends are seasonal.
