Hello Lovelies! At THE Salon Beauty Bar, we always want to keep you on your toes with the latest skin and beauty trends.
Because we love you. And skin is in. And frankly, we just can’t wait to share some of our favorite up-and-coming makeup trends for Spring 2013.
These striking new looks will be blossoming across runways in just a few weeks at Vancouver Fashion Week, but we figured—why wait? We’re excited to get fresh, and with our new Mobile Makeup Team, we’re bringing the glamour to you.
The Nudist
Bare, beautiful faces are parting the clouds this spring—case in point, the radiant Sienna Miller at this year’s Golden Globes or Calvin Klein’s Spring collection at New York Fashion Week. The all-natural look is huge this season, and getting that glow—for those of us who aren’t fresh off the plane from vacation—is magic made easy with our team of amazing stylists. Getting the ‘au natural’ look is all about creating a flawless, luminous complexion that spotlights your natural beauty, but sometimes this can take a little more work than we might think. Emphasize the natural contours of the face to create balance and symmetry: a buttery, glowing complexion with a kiss of blush. Work with a warm, nude colour palate to illuminate brilliant, healthy-looking skin. Welcome the sunshine; we want to see that gorgeous face!
I think we can all agree that the smokey eye is a sexy, sturdy, time-tested staple. It’s classic, dependable, versatile—and ready for a bold remix. Colour is everywhere this spring, and the brilliant smokey eye is going to be making a splash. Blues, greens and purples, barely-there pink and caramel—work with your unique skin tone to find the perfect match. It is a gorgeous contemporary look for brides that aren’t afraid to add a little dramatic flair. We heartily encourage you to Work It, Girl.
Fresh-Faced and Fancy-Free
For a fun twist on the ‘au natural’ look, add a splash of bright lip colour. The eye-popping pucker is big this spring, so pick a colour, any colour, and don’t be shy about it! Think Marilyn Monroe, think Gwen Stefani: classic, romantic, perfectly suited to your complexion. Add a dash of liquid liner cat-eye and you are ready for the alter, the runway, or wherever your fabulous travels may take you.
So, ladies, what will it be on the big day? Are you a traditional bride? More contemporary? A trend-setter perhaps? Let THE Salon and Beauty Bar’s Mobile Makeup Team explore the possibilities with you! Looking absolutely fabulous has never been less work and more fun. Take risks, have fun, get messy! As Coco Chanel would say, “a woman should be two things always: classy and fabulous”. As for the other rules? They were made to be broken. Brave and beautiful: that’s what this spring at THE Salon Beauty Bar is all about.
